Check the size guide to see if its right for you..
Getting a top tube that is taller than suggested will make the bike feel more controlled and less responsive
Getting a top tube size that is smaller than normal will make the bike feel a lot more snappy and responsive.
This is a medium chainstay.
A short chain stay makes the bike feel twitchy. Spins will be easy, but airing and jumping might feel hard to control.
A long chain stay will make the bike feel really controlled. Spins will feel sluggish, but manuals and air tricks will feel nice because it will be more stable.
Steep head tube angles make the bike “snappy” meaning more responsive to fast turns.
A less steep head tube gives you more control.
This is a tall standover.
A tall standover makes your seat higher up and will allow you to pinch it easier when learning barspins.
Riding a tall rise, will give you more leverage on the bike. Making it easier to pull back and lift the front wheel up.
This is a wide width.
Narrow bars make barspins easier.
Wide bars give you more control and stability when steering.
As far as I know, there is a sweet spot for backsweep. Too much will make the bike feel weird, and too little will make the bike unstable. It seems like the sweet spot is around 11º to 12º. If you need something a little more aggressive and straight feeling, go for 10º, but only do this if 11º is uncomfortable.
There is a lot of discussion about 1º upsweep vs. 4º upsweep. Some people are running experiments and testing if the greater upsweep will make drops feel better. It seems like a lot of street riders run 4º to 5º upsweep. This helps for wrist pain and lessens the impact of big drops.
Now everything above the line is pretty basic info. I break down the specs, geometry and some highlights. But that doesn't really help you find the right bike. So I created the Dougsterbob Score.
The Dougsterbob Score is taken from Doug Demaro's "Doug Score" (He already had the name so I had to get creative with mine haha) Anyway, this assigns a score to the bike based on 20 different aspects. This way you will know exactly what this bike is good for and how it holds up.

Category | Points | Percent of total |
---|---|---|
Dougsterbob Score | 136/200 | 68% |
Street Score | 37/40 | 93% |
Park Score | 13/30 | 43% |
Dirt Score | 5/30 | 17% |
Quality Score | 40/40 | 100% |
Style Score | 25/30 | 84% |
My favorite thing about the Battleship is the fact that everything is made from super high-quality parts and materials. It will last for just about any type of rider.
Even though it scored really low in dirt, and average in park, the bike is a high-performing shredding machine. Make sure to check at the bottom to see if I recommend it or not.
Not a lot of BMX bikes get a high score in the street section, but I really do recommend the WeThePeople Battleship as a street-bike because it has a freecoaster, pegs, and hub-guards, which are three of the most important things to look for when riding street.
The thing that would have made it the perfect street BMX bike is that if it would have had four pegs and four hub-guards.
The WeThePeople Battleship may not be the perfect BMX bicycle for the street, but I can say that it is very close.
I gave it a score of 13/30 because of its geometry. The WeThePeople Battleship is a very balanced BMX bicycle, which means that it’s not a bike which is hard to control.
Another thing to mention is that it does have holes drilled for a gyro, but doesn’t come with a gyro when you purchase it.
In conclusion, I would say that the WeThePeople Battleship can be used for occasional park rides, but it’s worth noting that this bike wasn’t specifically made for the park.
The reason why I gave it such a low score is that the geometry of this bike wasn’t made to be ridden on the dirt. Dirt riders usually prefer a mellow geometry, which this bike doesn’t have due to its shorter wheelbase.
The WeThePeople Battleship’s tires also aren’t the best for dirt since they are more street-focused.
The final reason why I wouldn’t recommend this bike for dirt-riding is because of its gearing. The WeThePeople Battleship has a freecoaster, which would make it a challenge in between dirt jumps.
If you are looking for a BMX bike purely for dirt riding, then this isn’t the bike for you. There are a lot of cheaper BMX bikes that outweigh this bike’s performance for dirt riding.
Having this bike will put your mind at ease, knowing that this bike was made to withstand abuse for a lot of years.
The bike has a lifetime guarantee on the frame and fork, which says a lot about how well-built this bike is.
With its aftermarket pro parts, I can honestly say that this WethePeople Battleship is made of superior quality materials and is a very good choice, even for those hardcore riders.
The Battleship looks SICK. I don't know why but I really love the way that it looks with the red and blue tire. You can really tell a difference between the $1000 bikes and the $300 bikes.
I do wish that you had a few different color options to choose from. But two will have to do for now. Another important thing is being able to replace parts and customize the bike. Luckily, everything is fully customizable.
The Wethepeople battleship is clean and stylish, with only two color options. I personally love how the bike looks.
You still get a great bike when you spend $1099 on the Battleship. Because of the aftermarket parts, you are still getting a good deal. It just isn't perfect value.
If you have a lot of money to spend, then this bike is for you. This is an $1100 bike which means it wasn’t made for beginner BMX riders.
I think that the WeThePeople Battleship is for those who are deciding to come back to the sport and for those who are looking for a BMX bike that will last them a long time.
YES.
For a rider who is looking to get back into the sport and has a lot of money. I do recommend the battleship.
Although it’s not the cheapest bike, the quality and durability the WeThePeople Battleship gives you make it a great bike. If you plan on riding BMX bikes for a long time, then this would be a very good investment.
The 2021 Wethepeople Battleship costs $1100. This is a really high price for a bike. It puts it up there with bikes like the Revolver, the Soundwave, and the Subrosa Novus.
The 2021 Wethepeople Battleship weighs 27.94 lbs. This is actually pretty heavy for a pro-level bike. I like to see BMX bikes weighing less than 25 lbs. However, this bike has pegs that weigh it down.
You can buy the Battleship from my store here. (obviously, I'm going to plug my new shop 🤫) But if for some reason it is out of stock, or you hate me and want to buy somewhere else, it is available below.

Wethepeoples 2021 Battleship is one of my favorite bikes this year. It has incredible quality and looks very clean and stylish.
If you have the money to spend, you should get it since the bike will last a long time. Keep in mind that it is best for street riding and will be a little harder to do when riding dirt and park.
