This is a medium toptube.

Perfect for riders that are between 5'6" to 6'0"

B: Chain Stay Length: 13.5” - Learn About Chain Stays Here

This is a longer chain stay! This will give you more control and stability.

Steep head tube angles make the bike "snappy" meaning more responsive to fast turns.

A less steep head tube gives you more control.

F: Stand over height: 9"

This is a medium standover.

A tall standover gives you more stability and will make bars, and t-bogs easier.

2020 Subrosa Sono Price

The Sono is less than $400 and that is pretty cool. I think that this is a pretty affordable bike and it would be easy to convince your parents to buy it for you. Is cheaper always better though?

2020 Subrosa Sono Quality

Like I mentioned before, the Sono is a lower quality bike. Made from hi-tensile steel frame, fork, and bars. Rant makes up the component package on this bike. Normally rant is very inexpensive and put on beginner bikes.

Good for beginners

The bike is cheap and lower quality. Which makes it perfect for a brand new rider who wants to get a new bmx bike without spending a bunch of money.

Not build to last.

To be honest, the bike will last a new rider a year or so depending on how hard and how often you ride. But once you progress to a mid or high-level rider, the bike will break.

Buy if you are learning:

  • 180
  • 360 taps
  • fakie tricks
  • footjam

Don't buy if you are learning:

  • flips
  • tailwhip
  • 720
  • huge drops
  • big 360

2020 Subrosa Sono Conclusion

For a brand new rider.. the Sono is designed to help you get into bmx. The specs are really good for fast progression, however, the parts are not meant to last. If you have never ridden BMX and you want to get one with some good specs to help you learn... get the Sono. If you are looking for a good second bike, do not get this one.
