Designed for riders who are 5'3" to 6'
This is a longer chain stay. It gives you a more stable and controlled feel.
Steep head tube angles make the bike "snappy" meaning more responsive to fast turns.
A less steep head tube gives you more control.
This is a medium/tall standover.
A medium stand over provides a good balance between responsiveness and control.
While a tall stand over allows you to pinch more of the seat for bars and t-bogs.
The Gateway costs right at $400. This is pretty cheap compared to other bikes that are well over the $500 threshold. For just $100 more you can get the Kink Switch which has full chromoly..
It is still a beginner bike, even with the chromoly front triangle. To be mid-level you need a bike that can hold up to lots of spins and drops. This bike just isnt there.
The gateway is for a rider who is looking to buy their first or second bike. It is designed for a rider that wants to learn more about bmx and progress. If you are still learning beginner tricks like feeble, 180, pull up bars, and smith grinds, the Gateway is a good choice.
