Eclat Storm Fork Review

Eclat's Storm fork is a strong lightweight fork that was carefully designed to hold up to strong riding. They kept it simple in order to keep it at 2.3 lbs. After spending a few years developing the storm fork, this was born. In 2 different offsets.

Eclat Storm Fork Overview

Introducing our new Storm Fork, the end result of over 3 years of extensive research and development into how we could make one of the strongest BMX forks possible. After years of work, and countless hours of laboratory and real life rider testing with the PRO team, we believe we have reached a new benchmark in BMX fork strength.

Don’t let the Storm fork’s subtle appearance deceive you, this fork is a well-calculated balance of tubing thickness, material specification, and our own heat-treatment process – ensuring that it can hold up to more abuse than any fork before it. Despite the huge increase of strength in this fork we still used a clean and simplistic design. We also kept the weight to a minimum, making it much lighter than you would expect.

Fork Geometry

A: Steerer Length: 170mm

This is the average-sized steer tube. A bigger steer tube will require spacers and make the bars higher. These forks don't do that.

B: Offset: 20mm, 25mm or 30mm

You get to choose between 20mm, 25mm or 30mm when you buy these forks.

This is really cool because you can still get the really strong forks, but you can choose the perfect size for you and your riding style.

20mm: Really steep and really responsive, will make nose manuals easy to get into and steering will be really snappy and responsive.

25mm: Similar to the 20mm, just not as extreme.

30mm: This is a more mellow feeling offset, giving you lots of control. Nose manuals will be harder to get into and steering will feel slow. This is good for a more controlled feel.

C: Dropout Size: 10mm

Designed for front wheels with a 10mm front axle. If your front axle is smaller than your rear, its 10mm.

WeThePeople puts Eclat on their high-level bikes. That's how you know that they are strong parts. These Storm forks are no exception. I haven't heard anything bad from them yet. However, I wish they had more colors because black and chrome is pretty limiting. Providing riders with 3 offset choices was a good call on Eclats part. Now all kinds of riders can get these strong forks.
